Meet our Founder

Sandra Davis is the President and Founder of Donorly, where she combines decades of nonprofit experience with innovative fundraising strategies to help organizations thrive across sectors. Passionate about staying ahead of the curve, Sandra continuously adapts new tools and methods to improve fundraising outcomes, all while creating joyful, meaningful experiences for both teams and donors.

Sandra’s approach is grounded in transparency, community-building, and long-term impact. She believes in empowering fundraisers to confidently ask for the resources they need, crafting customized strategies based on each organization’s unique needs. This results in stronger donor relationships and enhanced fundraising potential.

With a proven track record of leading successful capital campaigns, Sandra has secured transformational gifts and reengineered how organizations connect with their donors. Her expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including the performing arts, where she has leveraged donor networks to build strong, mission-driven communities.

Drawing on her deep understanding of human behavior and brain science, Sandra designs data-driven strategies that deliver exceptional results while respecting each organization’s capacity.

Her philosophy is simple: “If it’s done right with an open heart, fundraising should be joyful.” This belief is at the heart of Donorly’s mission—helping nonprofits achieve meaningful, sustainable growth.

Sandra has a rich background in fundraising, having worked in-house for renowned organizations such as The Public Theater, The Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition, she has provided expert consulting to hundreds of clients, helping them strengthen their fundraising strategies and achieve their goals.

    I came to the social impact space through a love for the arts coupled with the knowledge my destiny was in support of the work, not on stage.

    A lover of learning, my Masters in Performing Arts Administration from NYU gave me the knowledge I needed to take on fundraising roles while supporting social impact organizations holistically. My knowledge of events, donor stewardship, major gifts, and capital campaigns has helped my work with a variety of clients across multiple sectors including Manhattan Theatre Club, The Chick Mission, Marin Theater Company, and 54 Below.

    When I am not working, I am taking in as much culture in New York City as time will allow and raising two intrepid teenagers.

    Taking on an Operations role at Donorly means I’m using my expertise at a company where I can align my professional expertise with impactful missions. 

    With a solid background in business management and a knack for streamlining operations, I bring a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on experience to Donorly. My skills in process optimization, project management, and team coordination, enhance our ability to support non-profits effectively. 

    Outside of work, I cherish balance—embracing quiet mornings, refreshing walks, and espresso-fueled days. Pilates, travel, and time with friends enrich my life with strength, serenity, and adventure.

    With over a decade of experience in the social impact sector, I am passionate about helping mission-driven organizations grow and amplify their work. I’m particularly energized by collaborating with early-stage companies and contributing to innovative initiatives that drive meaningful change.

    I hold an MPA in Nonprofit Management and bring a diverse background in fundraising, communications, and marketing across the social good space. My experience spans education and healthcare nonprofits, as well as a tech startup empowering everyday donors.

    When I’m not working with the growth team at Donorly, you’ll find me cooking, traveling, or exploring the outdoors with my husband and our dog, Lilo. My guilty pleasure? Watching competitive reality shows.
