We strive for a transparent equity-based salary calculation for all of our employees. The salary for this position is in the range of $74,000-$140,000, with adjustments based on experience, client and team responsibilities, and leadership within the field.

Donorly is a partially remote workplace. Candidates living outside NYC are welcome to apply.

Donorly is a partially distributed/remote/virtual workplace. Team members work virtually from across the United States. We are headquartered in New York City.

QUALITIES AND SKILLS

The ideal candidate for the Consultant position is a collaborative, team-oriented individual with:

  • Experience planning and managing multiple projects/priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A keen eye for detail, including editing and proofreading abilities

  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills

  • Client/customer-oriented mindset

  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new apps/technology

  • A motivated, can-do spirit

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • At least 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience

  • Nonprofit fundraising experience or client-facing consulting experience

  • Experience working closely with high-level decision-makers, such as executives or board members

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead or partner on client projects including in-house counsel, interim staffing, strategic planning, and campaign implementation

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with client leadership; board members; donors; donor prospects; and key decision-makers at corporations, foundations and government entities

  • Partner with client leadership to create a strong fundraising message that articulate the organization’s highest priorities, and appeals to potential donors

  • Collaborate with clients and staff to provide research-based analysis to assist with cultivation and solicitation strategies

Manage the day-to-day activities of development for client projects, including:

  • Develop solicitation materials

  • Track, invoice and acknowledge gifts

  • Prepare grant proposals and reports for government, corporate and foundation donors

  • Arrange and lead preparation for fundraising meetings

  • Assist in identifying potential new prospects for client priorities

  • Manage event planning, execution and fundraising

  • Coordinate donor research

  • Manage database processes

  • Implement project evaluation

Some evening and weekend hours may be required, usually with ample advance notice.
